Does perfume degenerate with age?
I am considering buying some perfume off eBay (specifically Lancome Climat), and I am advised by the seller it is ten years old and sealed. Do you think it will be the original smell or will it have degenerated to acid or something?

Buyer beware! I have some perfumes whose smells have changed with age, and not for the better. Sunlight and extreme temperatures can affect the smell of perfume, even if it is unsealed. If you are looking to buy discounted perfumes, try an outlet like perfumania.com or something. Those should guarantee their products so that you won’t end up with perfume that has turned.
